WE-TiE Celebrated the International Women's Day on 8th March 2011 by hosting a panel discussion and an interactive session. The panel consisted of Mrs. Archana Shetty, General Manager -R N S Motors, Madhuri Kulkarni, Company Secretary, Vivek Pawar, CEO- Sankalp Semiconductors and Vivek Nayak, MD - Ken Agritech. The women panelists shared their thoughts on wonders of being a woman and their experiences and the other panelists shared their thoughts on the influences of women in their lives.
There was a healthy discussion amongst the panelists and the audience. Sharing their thoughts on the occasion, Mrs. Archana Shetty, called on women to stop thinking about the discrimination and asked them to take on more challenging roles. Stressing on the same Mrs. Archana Shetty told that she dint find any discrimination between men and women and their roles and that it was only in the minds and called on women to change their mindset and work for their own betterment.
Mrs Madhuri Kulkarni, Company Secretary also stresses the point that she dint had any discrimination in the corporate society that she was delivering her duties and that stressed that she was also able to use it to her benefit that she was a woman in creating business opportunities for herself.
Mr. Vivek Nayak, Managing Director, Ken Agritech shared his views on the roles that different woman had played in his life with respect to his wife and sisters and told that they were very supportive and at times more enterprising in coming up with ideas for his business which had been benefitted of.
Mr Vivek Pawar, CEO, Sankalp Semiconductors, also stressed on the discrimination point and added that the society’s in which women took active part made a fast progress when compared to the society’s in which women were passive. He also made a reference to his wife stating that his wife played a very influential role in setting up his business at hubli which was initially not his choice to set up. But his wife played a major role in his decision of him shifting to Hubli for his business.
