CEO, Deshpande Centre for Social Entrepreneurship (DCSE): He joined the Deshpande Foundation as a Program Officer (grants) in 2007 and Naveen was the Foundation's first full time staff person in India, and he manages the Foundation's India offices in Hubli, Karnataka. He has played a key role in establishing the Deshpande Foundation’s India activities and is instrumental in diversifying and expanding the Foundation’s work, from grant-making to launching the DCSE. Naveen is also engaged in building strategic collaborations with government, national and local partners. Naveen is also one of the founders and President of the TiE-Hubli chapter and also of a US-based non-profit organization called Action Exchange.



Naveen has significant experience in the NGO sector, having worked on issues surrounding water harvesting, land management and income generation with the NGO Pradan in Rajasthan. Naveen has also worked with international NGO's such as FINCA and Oxfam America. Naveen has a Bachelor's of Science and a Master's in Social Work from Jamia Milia Islamia University in New Delhi, India and a Master's in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University in Boston, MA, USA and he was a Ford Foundation Fellowship Recipient for 2005-07. During his academic training years, he published seminal research papers in peer-reviewed journals on the subjects of food security and early childhood intervention.
