2. Executive Director of Maharashtra State Electronics Corporation
( MELTRON ) from May 1985 to Dec 1988, in charge of both Production
and Marketing. Pioneered the production of the indigenous C-DOT
Telephone exchanges as well key telephone systems. Set up UHF / VHF
radio communication networks in different states across the country for
the Police, Railways and the Electricity Boards.
3. Founded Yojana Systems, the first 100% EOU for software exports in Pune, in 1989. Entire work was done offshore, using a 1200 bps link, with a very strong and effective S/W development process in place.
4. Managing Director of Motorola Software Centre in Bangalore . Received Motorola CEO’s prestigious Quality award, in March 1994, while heading the organization, which was the first to achieve
SEI-CMM Level 5.
5. Managing Director of chip design centre, Cirrus Logic, in Pune, for 5 years. Pioneered the work in multimedia embedded s/w on programmable DSP and parallel processing chips.
6. Founding Chairman of Pace Soft Silicon, a VC funded company focussed on creating IP and s/w products in the domain of video and multimedia on Mobile wireless, since July 2000. This company pioneered the software camcorder on Mobile phones in 2004. Pace received Nasscom Innovation award in Feb 2005. Pace was acquired in Dec 2005, by Santa Clara based company, Nvidia, a world leader in graphics, multimedia and high performance computing.
7. Director Pune Development Center of Nvidia and Chief Mentor from
Mar 2006 to April 2010, building it from 35 to 670 high performing people.

This NGO creates awareness amongst the rural and semi-urban students from 10th and 12th Standards, re various career opportunities available to them, including the different entrance exams, on-line filling up of the forms, basic computer knowledge etc. They also run a special “ Ahead of Times “ programme for the same audience, for personality and leadership development. Main objective is to encourage and nurture enormous talent from the Rural areas of India which remain dormant for lack of opportunities.

1. First Chairman of the IT Committee of Marhatta Chamber of
Commerce and Industries in Pune, in 1996. Prepared and drove the
Strategic Plan for making Pune, a major IT destination, along with a
few committed S/W Entrepreneurs and the STPI ( Pune ). Pune’s
IT exports grew from Rs. 125 Crores ( US$ 25 Million ) in
Mar 1996, to Rs. 30,000 Crores ( approx US$ 6 Billion ) in Mar 2010.
2. Ex-Chairman of Board of Studies at the University of Pune for I.T. and Computer Management Courses. Active involvement with Student Projects in IT companies.
3. Appointed in 2006, by the Govt of Maharashtra, on the Board of Governors of College of Engineering Pune ( COEP ), a premier Engg Training Institution in India , founded 150 years ago.
4. Has mentored many software companies in Pune like Compulink
Systems, KPIT-Cummins, Persistent Systems, etc.
5. Co-Founder of Kalyan Charitable Trust ( KCT ) along with wife Dr. Veena Khandekar, a Paediatrician. KCT is an organisation devoted to giving free vaccinations of Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Hib and MMR to children under 5 years, from economically backward communities, in and around Pune. These vaccines are not covered under the Govt’s free Immunisation programme. KCT has Conducted over 150 camps ( on alternate Sundays) in the last 8 years, covering over 60,000 children.

8. Chairman of the Board of Studies and member of Governing Council of Govt Polytechnic, Pune. Has revised the syllabii of all the branches of the Polytechnic, taking into consideration the key Technology roles that the Diploma graduates from the Polytechnic will play in the industrial environment. This is a pilot and will be implemented across the State of Maharashtra Polytechnics, in the future.
