Shankar is the Vice President & Director of Medical Affairs of Indus Westside Hospital, a 200 bed corporate hospital. He led the building’s construction, equipment installation, and was responsible for having the hospital inaugurated by Dr. A.P..J. Abdul Kalam. Shankar is passionate about making a difference in the maternal and child health domain, specifically in leveraging cutting edge technology to reach the masses.
Shankar has 15 years of experience as a consultant ObGyn, with a special interest in Reproductive Endocrinology and Minimally Invasive Surgery. He has an excellent academic record, having undergone training on these subjects at many centers in India & abroad. Shankar completed his Diploma in Gynec. Endoscopy from Kiel University, Germany and trained in advance reproductive technologies at Re Genesis (Reliance Life Sciences) Mumbai & St. George Hospital, London.
Shankar is invited to deliver talks on many subjects in State, National & International Congresses. In recognition of his academic contribution and publications in post-graduate text books, Shankar was conferred the Fellowship of the Indian College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Additionally, he has been a faculty for MBA colleges. He is an alumnus of IIM Calcutta, where he completed a senior management program, aimed at top organizational managers, emphasizing strategy development and brand building. Shankar is currently pursuing an MBA, with dual specializations in Hospital Management & Human Resource Development.
Shankar has in-depth experience in managing health care delivery systems, with the successfully running of a 20 bed maternity hospital and revitalization of a 100 bed multispeciality hospital in Hubli as profitable.
