Sudhir is the Executive Director of Teleworld United
which is part of the United Telecoms Ltd group. The
United Telecoms group is a reputed global business house with interests in
diversified sectors like Telecom, E-governance, Steel, Power, IT, Real Estate,
Manufacturing and Education with operations spread across 13 countries.
Sudhir
has 12 years of experience in the mobile devices market and is one of the
earliest professionals to have entered the fast growing Indian mobile phone
market
Sudhir
worked with Nokia India Pvt Ltd for four years and in his capacity as Regional
Manager – South India and National Channel Development Manager was instrumental
in establishing an organised network of distribution partners and retail
showrooms which helped Nokia dominate the mobile phone market.
Sudhir
joined the United Telecoms group in 2004 to head their mobile phone division as
the Chief Operating Officer. In the next five years, he led the team which
handled the national distribution of Samsung mobile phones and introduced MTS
and Virgin to the South Indian markets. He was part of the team which successfully
conceptualised and introduced Karbonn mobile phones in the Indian before
stepping out to follow his entrepreneurial ambitions.
As
a joint venture partner in Teleworld United and as its Executive Director,
Sudhir is responsible for project conceptualisation and execution of Brand
WIWO’s entry into the Indian market. This includes setting up a team of motivated
professional experts, implementation of differentiated product portfolio, processes,
sales and marketing strategies and evaluation indices that would establish WIWO
as a differentiated and relevant mobile device brand. He is also responsible to
set up a professional distribution house for telecom devices which would be a
go-to organisation for any reputed brand desirous of distributing their products
in India. Currently, the organisation is
the Master distributor of Sony mobile phones and MTS smartphones in South India
and has an annual turnover of Rs 320 crores.
Prior
to joining the mobile phone industry , Sudhir has worked with Titan Industries
and Timex Watches and has handled various managerial responsibilities in Sales
and Marketing. Sudhir began his career with MICO ( Bosch Group) in 1991 as a
Mechanical Engineer
Sudhir
holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from XLRI, Jamshedpur He is also an
alumni of Sri Jayachamrajendra College of Engineering, Mysore and Ramakrishna
Vidyashala, Mysore.
Sudhir
is a keen badminton enthusiast and has represented the Mysore University in the
inter-University games.
